“Hello Viper Nation” (don’t you love that; it sounds like Viper people have a second citizenship). I hope this reaches all motorsport enthusiasts, but I must begin with a disclaimer: The reports that follow will be written to the Viper Nation and Dodge enthusiasts. You may discover bias, controversy and sympathetic emotion to that cause; i.e. I may not represent all of the facts all of the time.
Some of you older Viper people might remember the newsletter I used to write, called the Woodhouse Windshield. The purpose was to share with all our Viper friends, the thrill of Sports Car War we were waging in World Challenge GT and to bring you under the tent for a look at the “dirt behind the curtain” you know the stuff that gets televised if you golf and your name is Woods. See already a stretch.
Consider this the new "Windshield".
The Woodhouse Performance Racing Team got off to a scuffed up beginning in the SCCA Pro Racing World Challenge GT Championship Series. To have a peak, check out some short clips (here) George you can fix yes?”
I was asked by a few Viper friends of questionable wisdom to bring the Windshield newsletter back only this time make it accessible to the entire Viper Nation and Dodge who share the racing passion. If you want to be alerted when these are being posted, notify Susan sdunklau@woodhouseperformance.com, our team director, no worries, Woodhouse Performance will not share your information.
Woodhouse Performance has been competing in World Challenge the last six years with the factory built Dodge Viper Competition Coupe. It remains as competitive today as it was in the beginning.
One record we unofficially claim is the most raced Viper of any, consequently the most crashed and perhaps the toughest. This car has seen hundreds of hours of track time and along the way the chassis number went from #10 to #47 resulting from a crash that took the complete chassis.. You might recognize it as car #13, yeah, good or bad this number gets associated with luck, and we have had a lot of both. If you get close to Blair, Nebraska stop in for a visit and experience the wall of Viper body panels, about 50 of them no longer useable. After all, World Challenge is NOT “Flag Football”.
Literally, this will be Sports Car Wars; we need you there and part of an army of Dodge fans involved in the events. We have a big job ahead and this is where you come in; no joke...Get off the couch, on your computer, check out your local car club schedule. They could be organizing a World Challenge track outing for you. If not, grab some friends and make it happen. If you can’t be at the track, you can find the schedule at www.world-challenge.com for the races and the VERSUS broadcast times. Set the recorder. Don’t make me hurt you.
